Advocating ODF

I'm still in the process of getting up to speed on Open Document Format and its benefits. To that end. I found an article at Groklaw which merits reading and saving for future reference. In it, is a letter from security expert Dan Geer to a Massachusetts state senator regarding Open Document Standards and computer security:

As expected, the article also has tons of interesting comments from the Groklaw community.

In a related matter, LXer, a website about Linux news, has a sample letter that individuals and organizations can send to "People of Influence Supporting ODF," urging adoption and support of ODF.
