Metadata removal checklist
As previously mentioned, it is sometimes a good idea to remove metadata before electronically distributing a WordPerfect document. Creating a checklist can insure which metadata items get stripped from the document before it goes out. Such a checklist should include:
- Comments and hidden text
- Document revision annotations
- Styles
- Undo/redo history
- Your username, initials, and company or organization name
- Document summary information
- Header and footer information
- Hyperlinks
- Non-visible portions of object linking and embedding (OLE) objects
That list came from Corel's handy instructions on steps to take for removing each metadata item from a document:
- Minimizing metadata in WordPerfect 12 documents (16 page PDF)
