Recommended: Brother HL-2040 Monochrome Laser Printer [updated]

brother_HL-2040.jpg Amazon.com has the Brother HL-2040 Monochrome Laser Printer on sale for less than half off right now.

Order the Brother HL-2040 Monochrome Laser Printer for $113.99.

This is the newer and better version of the Brother 1440 printer I use at home. So far, it has handled everything I want to print, including document printing, tax form printing, and spreadsheet printing, perfectly, for me.

Also, at my previous job, I bought three other Brother printers in this same line for myself, my co-worker, and my boss's wife.

Needless to say, I've had great success with Brother printers. They're super easy to install, use and maintain. They also handle envelopes with little or no effort.

Features:

  • Parallel and USB 2.0 interface; PC, Mac, and Linux compatible
  • 2,400 x 600 dpi resolution with laser print quality
  • Up to 20 ppm black, first page out in under 10 seconds
  • 250-sheet input capacity; supports a variety of sizes and envelopes
  • Simple setup and operation; 8 MB standard memory

The regular toner cartridges usually run in the $40 to $50 range and yield about 2,500 pages. The high yield cartridges cost about $75.00 and put out about 6,000 pages.

At $113.99, and with free shipping and no sales tax for most, this is the kind of bargain that doesn't come along every day.

EDIT: The Brother rebate ended. But, that price is still great.
