WordPerfect X3 first review

Shortly after midnight on January 17, 2006, The Washington Times has the first review of a preview copy of the next version of WordPerfect: Laudable comeback by word processor, by Mark Kellner. At least, it's the first I've seen so far.

A couple things worth noting right off the bat.

  • On the name: They're calling in WordPerfect X3, not 13, as I previously fretted.
  • On pricing: The retail price is $299.00. The standard edition upgrade will retail for $159.00.
  • On PDF: Users will be able to open and edit Adobe PDF files without having to convert them.
  • On opening MS Word documents in WP: For the most part, smooth and easy.
  • On opening WP documents in Word: Not so smooth or easy, but possible with some work.

Well, needless to say, I can't wait to get my hands on WordPerfect X3.
