WordPerfect X3 on search and metadata
I'm still sifting through news reports about WordPerfect X3. But, I wanted to draw attention to something I found particularly noteworthy:
Corel's newest version of WordPerfect (the other word processor), WordPerfect X3, features a Yahoo! Search functionality that allows web searches from within the program and a way to get rid of metadata.
[...]
"Metadata is becoming an issue of increasing concern for lawyers," said Jim Calloway, Director, Management Assistance Program at the Oklahoma Bar Association.
"Metadata is useful for internal office operations, but to maintain confidentiality it's important to cleanse metadata before you send out a document to another party."

This is excellent news, and something I have stressed on this blog and with law office staff I talk to.
EDIT a couple days later: Even Search Engine Watch noticed Yahoo Toolbar Embedded into New Version of WordPerfect.
Important: If you don't want the Yahoo search bar to install on Internet Explorer, be sure to opt out during installation.
