Best way to make a horizontal line across the page
One problem I often encounter when editing documents someone else has created is the notorious line across the page. The problem occurs when the original typist set it up by typing either a repeat line of underscore or underline characters across the page.
This mostly comes up in things like appellate briefs where different parts of the cover page are separated by a straight horizontal line.
The problem becomes most apparent when fonts or font sizes get changed. The line either wraps to the next line, or doesn't extend all the way to the margin. Also, the problem can appear when the document gets printed on a different printer than the printer for which it was created.
WordPerfect eliminates this problem with the graphical horizontal line. The line can be accomplished by navigating on the menu bar to Insert > Line > Horizontal Line. The keyboard shortcut is simply CTRL F11 (a very worthwhile keyboard shortcut to know and use).
