Check your file associations
A couple days ago, an unknown person sent me this question via instant messenger:
Word Perfect won't open when I click attachment in e-mail.
The person signed off line before I could get any more details about the problem.
One thing that occurs to me is, if the attachment ends with .wpd, you want to make sure Windows knows that those files should be opened by WordPerfect. The program takes care of this when installing WP for the first time. But, sometimes changes get made to an operating system, and the file association can get changed or lost.
I'm reluctant to give specific instructions on how to change file associations, or create a new one, since everyone's system is different. But, Microsoft has a handy guide for doing same: How to change file associations in Windows XP.
Voila! If that doesn't work, or if that's not even the problem, please get back to me. Thanks.
