On playing computer games at work

A government employee in Albany, New York, lost his job when an open game of solitaire was discovered by his boss (New York City mayor) on his computer screen. Apparently, there is some debate on whether or not that such a big deal as to be a firing offense.

Of course, studies have suggested that a quick game of Solitaire at work can often be good for worker productivity. It gives workers much needed breaks that make them more productive when they are working and makes them happier. (Techdirt: Fired For Playing Solitaire?)

See, A Shareware Life: Job Lost Because of Solitaire, for an alternative solitaire game that minimizes to the taskbar tray. Not that I'm advocating that. Ahem.
