Working with WP's QuickWords feature

Does anyone use WordPerfect's QuickWords? The QuickWords feature functions as a major time saver for entering long strings of commonly used text, phrases, signature lines, and more.

To get started with QuickWords, type out the text you would like to use. For example:

John Smith (Reg. # 0-00-000)
Attorney at Law
100 South Main Street, Suite A
Any City, State 00000
Phone: 217-555-1234
Fax: 217-555-1235

Select that text (as if you were going to copy it to the clipboard).

On the main menu, navigate to Tools > QuickWords.

The most difficult thing (but, no big deal) about this is deciding what to call your QuickWords. For the example I gave, you could choose something like JS if you're quite certain that you won't be using JS for anything else. Alternatively, you could use \john. Note the backslash as opposed to a regular forward slash. Or ?john. Whatever you decide to use, just make sure it something easy to remember and it won't be used in any other way in the future.

Because styles and formats change from document to document, under the Options button, select Expand as Plain text. This preserves the formatting of the new documents and not the format of the document your originally selected from.

Make sure Expand QuickWords when you type them is checked. Click OK, and you're good to go.

Open a new document and try out your new QuickWords.
