Maintain original layout in WordPerfect despite your printer

If you get a document from someone else, there's a pretty good chance your printer is different than the printer for which the document was created. When you open the document in WordPerfect on your computer, WordPerfect automatically changes the layout of the document to suit your printer.

You can turn this off on a case by case basis, or your can turn it off for all documents:

  1. Click Tools, Settings.
  2. Click Convert.
  3. In the Convert settings dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
  4. In the Options area, enable the Do not format document using print metrics check box.
  5. If you wish to have the customized settings saved in the default template and applied to all WordPerfect documents that you open, then Click Template.
  6. Click Yes.

This works in WP 10, 11, 12, and X3.
