Making the horizontal line thicker

In a previous entry (Best way to make a horizontal line across the page), I covered underscore (or underline) versus horizontal line and the advantage and ease of using the graphical horizontal line (F11).

Recently, I was setting up some simple form documents and wanted different sections to be separated by a horizontal line. But, because the form contained so many blank lines, the purpose of the horizontal line was lost. It looked like just another blank to be filled in.

To remedy this situation, I made the horizontal line thicker than the rest of the lines on the form. To accomplish this, bring up Edit Graphic Line dialog box by double clicking the code for, Graph Line: Horz, Full 6.5" while in Reveal Codes.

edit_graphics_line_line_thickness.jpg To get some predefined line thicknesses (I'm sure that sounds grammatically weird), click on the icon for Line thickness, and select your preferred thickness. Alternatively, you can define your own thickness as indicated in the thickness dialog.

It's as easy as that. Thicker lines where needed. Sharp looking documents. Perfect.
