Line numbering in WordPerfect

Someone recently sent an email wanting to know if WordPerfect can do line numbers. Great question. Yes it can, and quite easily.

Access the line numbering interface by clicking Format > Line > Numbering.

It's very intuitive, and the choices offered should cover just about any kind of document you might be working on, including transcripts, contracts, and patent applications.

Check the box for Turn Line Numbering On. Line numbering methods include Arabic numerals, lower case letters, upper case letters, lowercase Roman numerals, and uppercase Roman numerals.

If your document lines are double spaced, then your line numbering will be double spaced. That is, the blank lines between the lines of text won't be numbered.

The line numbers can be positioned from the left edge of the page, or outside the margin. You can chose to restart the numbers with each new page, or not. Count blank lines, or not. Number all newspaper columns, or not. And, finally, you can change the font of the line numbers.

Good luck, and keep those questions coming.
